Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Circles of Healing Program provides direct services to victims of crime, including sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and other crimes. The Circles of Healing Transitional Services Specialist will work directly with the Circles of Healing Outreach advocates to provide follow up and aftercare for clients transitioning from crisis intake to stabilization.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Drafting Transition & Safety plans in accordance to the desired outcomes of Circles of Healing clients.
  • Coordinating and providing services to clients using a safe, timely, effective, efficient, client-centered approach.
  • Facilitate culturally specific support groups for clients.
  • Facilitate multiple transitional aftercare aspects (case coordination, information sharing, attending/scheduling meetings with other agencies, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with community partners.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
  • Manage and prioritize client needs in alignment with client goals.
  • Plan events/meetings as needed in an organized and timely manner.
  • Tabling events as needed with other COH staff.
  • Maintain appearance standards as outlined in CTCLUSI policies.
  • Must be able to interact with Tribal members and the public in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a good attendance record as outlined in CTCLUSI Handbook.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

 

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS

  • This is not a supervisory position.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

  • Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Working with people in crisis who may have additional barrier/disabilities that can be mentally challenging.
  • Must be able to walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds as needed.

Experience and Skills:

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 25 years of age per Tribal Vehicle Use Policy.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology or a related field OR 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations providing direct service.
  • At least one year of verifiable experience in case management.
  • Must have ability to travel out of state for meetings and trainings and work events and non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Must possess ability to operate Microsoft office programs.
  • Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English.
  • Valid driver's license as well as the ability to be able to comply with Tribal Vehicle Use Policy. This position may include providing transportation for Native and non-Native American clients in tribally owned vehicles.
  • Ability to work independently if needed to problem solve and multi-task in the field.
  • This is a covered position and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal history background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with victims/survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault.
  • Experience working in grant-funded programs.
  • Experience working with transitional housing programs and other transitional services.
